Best Time I Ever Had
03:45
|
|||
Lemme tell you 'bout the best time I ever had (we were in Chicago)
Drinking beer, I usually don't smoke cigarettes (but you know how it goes)
We were walking around, looking for lights, listening for sounds
Anyone to let us in and tip the hourglass upside down
Oh, that was the night I felt alive, I felt alive
You didn’t have to try to feel it inside
Lemme tell you 'bout the best time I ever had (I swear it wasn't planned)
12AM and we're just leaving our pad (no destination)
We were running around, looking for love, love in this town
Anyone to let us in and tip the hourglass upside down
Let's find ourselves a home
I'm better here than on my own
Wherever we go I'll know I've had the best time, but not for the last time

Wedding Bells
04:15
|
|||
I think I'll marry you today and every other day
I wanna see you smile that way, a smile filled with play
We should be decorations on a wedding cake
And each time the flowers fly you'll catch the whole bouquet, and that's okay
Wedding bells will ring in our ears for years to come
Memories fade but not ever this one
Each time we question the past
We'll know we chose right when we fell in love on that night
Why don't we honeymoon today and every other day
I'll go upstairs and pack my bags, you pack your suitcase
We should be traveling 'round the world with just our clothes
Taking a picture at each stop to bring back home, bring back home

Make It a Deal
03:51
|
|||
I cannot stop myself from wanting you
This is the way I've always felt
The pull is of the highest magnitude
Friction so hot we nearly melt
If you wanna be my girl
You've got show me your whole wide world
We can share the way we feel
Now, come together baby can we make it a deal?
Why don't we spend time being mesmerized
Put the phones down for a while
I want the veins in your eyes memorized
And when I can I'll make you smile
Don't you see me as your confidant and right hand? I'm your only man.
Won't you tell me all the things that make you frightened? You know I'll understand.

I Don't Know Anything
04:07
|
|||
I'm still inside my own head
These quicksand struggles haven't done me any good
I'd like to think I want change
I'd like to think I would if I could
I feel like I have no influence on my actions
I'm told that I do but there's no way that it's true
I operate on what happened
Living in the present isn't something that I do
All I know is that I don't know anything
Maybe I'm done pretending that I do
Socrates was right so long ago
It only took me 23 years to see the truth
These next lines will be positive
After reading back the first half I sound like I'm sad
That isn't quite the case though
I'm just transitioning; uncovering some things that I have had
So I'll move forward every day now
Trying hard not to look back at my perplexing history
What more can I say now?
Silence would be fine but I have choruses to sing
I wanna do it for my legacy
When my kids are alive I want them loving everything
They don't need to be like me
Not entirely at least, I'll only give them what feel need
I look forward to that future
A nucleus where we can share and never fear scared
That's not exactly what I'm used to
I love a lot about my youth but we were never perfect there

Still Moving
03:32
|
|||
Not too long ago I moved down here
Facing life alone without much fear
But now I'm not that guy, anymore
I've found I'm more afraid than before
And I'm still moving...
I've got my faith and I've then got my doubts
I'd like to think two months will work it out
But sometimes I can't think very straight
No wrong no right, just time in this space
I've heard home is in the heart. But if that's the case then why do I find myself so torn? Maybe I need a little push, this time it's not just me, I've got company as well.
I know some day I'll play through this song
Reflecting on the way that time has gone
I'm sure I'll have had a few regrets
‘Cause now I'm only looking for what's next

Obsidian
03:05
|
|||
You're a beam of light that shines through the dark
Just a pinhole, but to kerosene, fire from a spark
You make obsidian from the flame in your soul
It burns like a candle, pressing a heart into gold.

Step on out and walk along
The world wants to sing you a song
Stay all alone inside
The world might forget you're alive
Maybe you're scared, or alone; you barely have this place to call home
Maybe you're tired, or sick; you're trying to get by on your own
I don't want you uncomfortable, but I'd like to see you try
I don't know what it is that keeps us all boxed up like this
But I'll tell you, I know one thing, leaving's hard but pays in the end
I don't want you uncomfortable, but I'd like to see you try
So leave the place where you feel safe
Force yourself to move
Always know it'll be okay
You've got to believe in you

Act Out This Song
04:52
|
|||
I'm gonna keep you awake for both of our sakes, yeah I promise
And you should try very hard to stay with me darling, you'll like this
And I can guarantee we'll have a good time
Baby, just let me be me, I'll make you my queen if that's alright
I can feed you grapes off the vine, wine you and dine you on this night
And I can guarantee we'll have a good time
Time spent beside you is the time that I wish I could stop
I would stay up all night brushing lips against your skin so soft
I might kiss your body 'til we feel like moving on
Then when we’re ready to proceed well we can try and act out this song
Stare right into my eyes, read me inside and you'll get it
My heart, it beats when you blink; you stop, so will I, don't forget it
And I can guarantee we'll have a good time
Move your leg over mine and lay on your side I can't make you
Feel my body on yours, crash into my shores and turn me blue
And I can guarantee we'll have a good time

Tracy, Tracy B, DJ Tracy won’t you play me a song?
I heard you through the airwaves first when I was 18 driving through my college town
We met when I was 19, you put us on the radio, you said you liked our sound
You were one of the nicest people I had ever known
She’s famous by the river, don’t blink or you might miss her, please turn up your radio
You can call her if you’re lucky she might pick up and talk to you, ask you how your day is goin'
You're one of the nicest people I have ever known

Love's Candle Burns
03:17
|
|||
Snow shakes from the sky, please come in and be made dry
You sure look like you could use some rest
Welcome to our home, do sit down and rest your bones
Won't you have some soup to decompress?
'Cause you're just a soul like we–flesh, blood, bones–a human being
We'll love you no matter who you are
Your love transforms everything
Anything that you can dream is possible though love
So come on, go out
Spread the warmth around
Together we can paint the earth while snow falls to the ground
This is how it goes, you see, karma made it grow
You loved me expecting no return
Now your dream's come true, and new life is brought to you
And once again we see love's candle burn
